Andronicus II Palaeologus, with Michael IX. 1282-1328. AV Hyperpyron (20mm, 2.89 g, 6h). Thessalonica mint. Struck circa 1303-1320 (or later). Half-length facing figure of the Theotokos, orans, within city walls with four towers; sigla: K/K | Φ/Λ / Christ standing facing, crowning Andronicus and Michael, kneeling to left and right respectively. DOC 480-487; PCPC 1208.1 (sigla 203); SB 2396. Heavily clipped, areas of flat strike. VF.
