SASANIAN KINGS. Peroz, 3rd crown. AD. 457/9-484. Silver Drachm (3.38 gm; 27 mm). mint: AS (Aspahan or Aspanvar), no date, countermarked Pahlavi letters \"AHSh"\"? (Ahoush)? meaning "\"immortal"\" on the obverse. Choice Very Fine. Nice old cabinet toning. Exremely rare with this legend. EX. Steve Album Tag. Peroz was one of the most highly regarded kings by the authors and historians of later generations due to his tremendous effort in helping and saving the population during and in the aftermath of deadly drought that destroyed much of the Sasanian empires farm land and food supply. Peroz opened all the grain supply depots and forced the private owners to do the same. Peroz was considered by Soviet historians as a hero of the masses in their writing and research."
