ARAB-SASANIAN. Ubayd Allah ibn Ziyad,Year 58. AR Dirhem (3.16 gm; 32 mm). Governor of Basra, Kufa and Khorasan during the reign of Umayyad Caliph Mu'awiya. Obverse; Sasanian bust with name on the right, reverse; fire altar with attendants, mint: "bcra" Basra, date 58 to the left of attendants. Sharply struck on a nice flan. Some minor light porosity on reverse, otherwise sharply struck. Choice Superb EF. Lightly toned.
