Hudson's Bay Company zinc Counterstamped Uniface Plate or Trade Token ND AU, Br-Unl., FT-Unl., cf. Gingras-pg. 71 (no mention is made of this type). 26x26mm. 2.55gm. Plain edge. Only the second example of this very rare token type we have offered, the other part of lot 29141 in our January 2016 sale #3044, and stemming from the Belzberg Collection. That piece, however, showed several planchet flaws, and was not as nice as the present piece. Mr. Partrick notes that only 5 specimens of this token as known. Sold with old collector envelope detailing provenance.
