Lower Canada. Bank of Montreal "Habitant" Penny (2 Sous) Token 1837 MS62 Brown NGC, KM-Tn13, Br-521, LC-9D2. Plain edge. Medal alignment. Variety with period after Canada and weak ground. Chestnut surfaces with minor contact marks. Mr. Partrick's original envelope has this piece noted as a Proof strike, though we agree with NGC that it is rather Mint State. Sold with old collector envelope detailing provenance.
