Blacksmith copper "Bust & Harp" 1/2 Penny Token 1820 VF Details (Obverse Damage) NGC, BL-36, Courteau-20 (R9), BH-20 (R9). Plain edge. Reverse rotated 90 degrees clockwise. Thick flan. The strike is unusually strong, with sharp bust and harp. The legends are partially readable, but the date is missing. The surfaces show considerable porosity, with numerous handling marks and notable scrapes on the face of the bust. Even with the flaws, better than most of this type, and clearly finer than the Charlton place specimen. Sold with old collector envelope detailing provenance.
