Province of Canada. Bank of Montreal/City Bank Mule "Front View" Penny Token 1842-Dated (1860) MS62 Brown NGC, Br-Unl., PC-2A2. 24.04gm. Plain edge. Thick Flan. Medal Alignment. According to Charlton, "this type has long been considered a mule of the 1842 and 1837 one penny tokens, having the 1842 obverse of PC-2B (Br 526) and the reverse of LC-9A (Br 521)." Light brown patina, with a nice strike. The rims appear to have been filed. Sold with old collector envelope detailing provenance.
