France, Eugene de Beauharnais, 1825, Medal, UNC; France, Eugene de Beauharnais, 1825 Medal, UNC, Posthumous Commemorative medal By Franz Xaver Lösch in honor of Eugene de Beauharnais, Viceroy of Italy and stepson of Napoleon I. He accompanied his stepfather's rise firstly within the army of Italy then in the ranks of the imperial army. He covered himself with glory during the Battle of the Moskva, which was the high point of his career. \r\nAfter the fall of Napoleon, Eugene de Beauharnais retired to the court of the Wittelsbachs in Munich where he died in 1824. The inscription on the reverse "honor and fidelity" is exactly the epitaph engraved on his German grave. 36.26g Superb\r\nBr.1873.
