He accompanied his stepfather's rise firstly within the army of Italy then in the ranks of the imperial army. He covered himself with glory during the Battle of the Moskva, which was the high point of his career. \r\nAfter the fall of Napoleon, Eugene de Beauharnais retired to the court of the Wittelsbachs in Munich where he died in 1824.
