KUSHANO-SASANIANS. Vahrām (Bahram) I. Circa AD 330-365. AV Dinar (36.5mm, 7.70 g, 11h). Struck under Kidarite king Kidara, circa AD 350-365. Vahram standing left on ground line, wearing lotus crown with ribbons and surmounted by pomegranate, flames at shoulders, sacrificing at altar and holding trident; to left, trident standard above altar, middle prong surmounted by crescent; triple pellets below left arm; to right, tamgha above ω / Siva standing facing, holding diadem and trident; behind, the bull Nandi standing left. Cf. Cribb, Kidarites 5A (for type); ANS Kushan –; MK –; Zeno –; CNG E-485, lot 244. Flan cracks, light marks, minor metal flaw in obverse margin. Good VF. Very rare with the ω below the tamgha, only the CNG E-485 coin in CoinArchives.
