Claudius Æ Sestertius. Contemporary imitation of a Rome mint issue of circa AD 41-50. TI CLAVDIVS CAESAR AVG IMP P M TR P, laureate head to right / NERO CLAVDIVS DRV[S]VS GERMAN IMP, triumphal arch surmounted by equestrian statue spearing downward to right between two trophies; S-C across fields. The order of the names and titles of this obverse legend are not known on any official coins struck under Claudius however they are recorded for another imitation with a Ceres reverse type (see RIC I 94 note and BMCRE 139).
