Pedro II, 1831 - 1889, Inauguration of the Imperial Railway, bronze medal, 1858, Bergsøe 1493, Meili 101, Lüster, 116.70 g, 70 mm - a scarce medal in choice condition.
After spending two years in Danish prison for counterfeiting, the engraver Christian Lüster emigrated to Brazil where he obtained employment at the Imperial Mint in Rio de Janeiro. Lüster was the model for the main character in Vilhelm Bergsøe's novel, "Falskmøntneren" (The counterfeiter)
