Canada Bank of Canada $1000 2.1.1937 BC-28S Specimen PMG Choice Uncirculated 63. Due to the death of King George V in 1936, currency issuers across British lands needed to update the Royal portrait on banknotes to reflect the new monarch: King George VI. The new $1000 is similar to the 1935 type, but with new color schemes and a few shakeups to the text and languages. Specimen and issued banknotes of this type are rare in any grade, and this Uncirculated example is sure to please. Overprints and hole punched cancellations are mentioned for accuracy. A highest denomination rarity, and quite popular today. https://currency.ha.com/itm/world-currency/canada-bank-of-canada-1000-211937-bc-28s-specimen-pmg-choice-uncirculated-63/a/4029-28182.s?type=CoinArchivesCurrency4029 HID08706262019 © 2020 Heritage Auctions | All Rights Reserved
