The 1920 Florins series is one of the most stunning series ever produced by Thomas de la Rue. Regretfully, this series was ill-fated from the start, as East Africa adopted the Shillings currency system less than two years after this stunning Florins type was printed. The redemption process of Florins began in the 1920s, and today, only a scant few issued notes and Specimen remain. This handsome Specimen displays typical printer notations, a perforated cancellation, and a small serial number range. A tiny stray ink mark at back is mentioned for accuracy.
