The 1936 series of notes issued by the Bank of Spain were issued through Burgos, the seat of Francisco Franco's Nationalist government. The first two notes in this series were printed in Italy, while the higher denominations were printed in Germany. This 5 Pesetas is the first denomination of the series, and happens to be one of the scarcest as well.
