CHARLES III (1759-1788). Prize from the Royal Seville Economic Society of Friends of the Country. (Ae. 28.07g / 40mm). 1778. Engraver: Tomás F. Prieto. (Vives 54; RAH 318). Anv: Laureate bust of Carlos IV on the left with coat, band, and necklaces of the fleece and the order of Carlos III, around legend: CAROLVS III R CATHOLICVS. Rev: Ribbon with legend: PRODESSE LABORAT, laurea and crossed feather, under pedestal with inscription: SOCIETAS OECONOMICA / HISPALENSIS / A DE MDCCLXXVIII. F. Several punches on the obverse. Still a very good specimen.
