LOXERO (Michoacán). VG. Importante pieza de Guerra de Independencia, acuñada por órdenes del Teniente Coronel Francisco Loxero, quien fue secretario en el Gobierno Provisional Mexicano de las Provincias del poniente. Dichas piezas se han localizado recientemente en las inmediaciones del Fuerte de Jaujilla, en el islote de la laguna de Zacapu al sur de Valladolid, Michoacán. En la obra Moneda Particulares Mexicanas (Fernández G, Gómez S., 2017), Tomo II, pagina 583, se enlistan dos ejemplares con el mismo apellido fechadas en 1806, de cospel circular, mas no como la presente.

Important piece of the War of Independence, minted by orders of Lieutenant Colonel Francisco Loxero, who was secretary in the Mexican Provisional Government of the western Provinces. These pieces have recently been located in the vicinity of the Jaujilla Fort, on the islet of the Zacapu Lagoon, south of Valladolid, Michoacán. In the work Moneda Particulares Mexicanas (Fernández G, Gómez S., 2017), Volume II, page 583, two copies are listed with the same surname dated 1806, with circular planchets, but not like the present one.
