AU58 Edward the Black Prince, (1362-72), gold Pavillon d'Or, Bordeaux Mint, first issue with cinquefoil at centre of reverse and lis in first quarter of reverse, standing figure of Black Prince with sword and pointing finger, four ostrich feathers around, all within Gothic portico, two lions at feet, legend with quatrefoil stops and beaded circles surrounding, ED'** PO** GnS** REG A nGL** PnPS** AQIT, rev. cinquefoil in central compartment of ornate cross with acorn terminals within quatrefoil over cross quernée, large trefoils in spandrels, legend with quatrefoil stops and beaded circles surrounding, +DnS** AIVTO**+** PTECIO** mE**+** IIPO** SPAVI** COR** mEVm** B, letter B for Bordeaux, 5.28g (Schneider 39; Elias 149; AGC 154A-7/a; S.8123). Double struck in the legends both sides, has been graded by NGC as AU58.

NGC Certification 5880727-002.
The abbreviated Latin legend on the obverse should read fully "Edwardvs Primo Genitvs Regis Anglie Princeps Aqvitainie" and translates as "Edward, first born of the King of England, Prince of Aquitaine" and on the reverse "Dominus Adjutor Et Protector Meum Et In Ipso Speravit Cor Mevm" which translates as "The Lord is my strength and my shield, and my heart hath trusted him".
