AUSTRALIA across centre, crown above within tied laurel wreath, SYDNEY MINT above, ONE SOVEREIGN below, 7.98g (Bentley 643; Marsh 368; KM 4; Fr.10; McDonald 110). Cleaned with usual surface marks and nicks, very fine.

Calendar year mintage 1,255,500.

The second young head type Sydney Mint Sovereign was designed and engraved by Leonard Charles Wyon.
