H M Lingford, collection purchased en bloc by Baldwin, 1951
Acquired privately from Baldwin, November 1943 [with these tickets]
,
The Lingford ticket states 'poor silver' but the weight and flan size are not incompatible with good metal, and the workmanship of the dies appears to be official. It is possible that the coin was once gilt and that this has worn away and discoloured.
Estimate: £50 - £80
