Pedro I 160 Reis 1824-R AU53 NGC, Rio de Janeiro mint, KM373, LMB-493. By far the finest example of this extremely rare two-year issue that we had handled, the Paulistana specimen showing clear evidence of cleaning, while the Guariba piece showed notable scratches. In sharp contrast, the present coin exhibits an even, original cabinet tone and only light evidence of circulation wear over the highest points of the design.
