Pedro I 160 Reis 1826-R MS62 NGC, Rio de Janeiro mint, KM373, LMB-494, Bentes-477.03. 33 tulip variety. A scarce near-choice issue of this Rio minted two-year type. Razor-sharp details decorate this flashy, steel-gray example, nearly centering a shield countermark from an earlier overstruck colonial type. NGC has seen three 160 Reis pieces from Pedro I, this being the absolute finest, tailed by an 1824-R in AU53 and another 1826-R in XF45.
