Pedro II 20 Reis ND (1700-1702)-(P) AU53 NGC, Pernambuco mint, KM74, LMB-138, Bentes-96.01. The smallest denomination in the series and exceptionally rare, while boasting pearl-gray high points against pewter-gray low-lying fields. Only one other of this date has been seen by NGC, with this being the finest. That such a small issue from a tumultuous period in the Portuguese colony's history would survive in a state of preservation just below Mint State is sure to entice collectors into frenzied bidding.
