French/British Condominium gold Proof Piefort Essai 100 Francs 1966 PR64 Ultra Cameo NGC, KM-PE2, Lec-56. Mintage: 50. A quite rare colonial gold type, struck to a miniscule figure of just 50 pieces, only 4 of which have been reportedly certified at NGC, with just one ranking a point finer. Despite the coin's sub-gem grade, we have been able to locate few instances of stray handling or contact, the surfaces on the whole seeming virtually blemish-free and heavily cameoed against the devices.
