British India. William IV Prooflike Restrike Rupee 1835.-(c) PL65 NGC, Calcutta mint, KM450.3, S&W-1.43. Type D Obverse, Type IV Reverse, with F in relief on truncation. Very fine quality for this often relatively subdued restrike, a mottling of blue toning over both sides granting the piece a singular eye appeal. Currently, only a single coin at NGC ranks a point finer, with the Hamilton specimen we sold in June 2019 ranking at a PR64.
