Fourth, crowned bust of Elizabeth II facing right; IRB below; ELIZABETH · II · D · G REG · F · D · 2015 Design by Ian Rank-Broadley. / Royal Mint logo consisting of crowned shield containing the Royal Arms. Inscription: 'The Royal Mint Trial Piece' and 'One Pound' repeated 24 times around the rim. Edge alternating plain and milled.
These coins were distributed in early 2015 to companies which manufacture and calibrate vending machines. Their production early in the year means they feature the 4th portrait, unlike the one pound coins which entered circulation later that year.
