BYZANTINE SEALS. Anonymous, Circa 11th century. Seal or Bulla (Lead, 15.5 mm, 3.20 g, 12 h). MP-ΘY Nimbate facing bust of the Virgin Mary, orans, with small medallion of young Jesus Christ over her breast. Rev. O/ NI/KO - Λ/O/S Facing bust of St. Nikolaos, raising hand in benediction and holding Book of Gospels. Some uncleaned deposits, otherwise, very fine.
