ISLAMIC, Anatolia & al-Jazira (Post-Seljuk). Artuqids (Mardin). Qutb al-Din Il-Ghazi II, AH 572-580 / AD 1176-1184. Dirham (Bronze, 29 mm, 9.24 g, 12 h), imitating coins of Constantine I "the Great", unlisted mint, possibly Mardin. Diademed head to right, looking upwards, within pellet quadrate border; around, Arabic inscription stating the ancestors of Qutb al-Din Il-Ghazi II. Rev. Arabic inscription in five lines, stating the name and titles of Qutb al-Din Il-Ghazi II. Album 1828.1. S&S Type 31.1. Well-centered and with a dark brown patina. Very fine.
