Lacroix (1909-2016) is recognized for his articles and various books on Greek history, numismatics, and iconography. He served as professor of Greek archaeology and art history at the University of Liège for over 25 years. He is famed for his influential work 'Les reproductions de statues sur les monnaies grecques: la statuaire archaique et classique' (Liège, 1949).
