The 1882-S double eagle was struck in a quantity as large as 1,125,000 pieces.
Even if a lot of them were minted the surviving population remains important and it is not difficult to find it in grades up to MS62.
It is scarce in MS63 (this one) with less than 80 pieces accounted and only 6 in higher grade.
