A truly desirable banknote which was issued to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the People's Republic of China on 1 October 1949. The front design features Mao Zedong reading the proclamation from the Meridian Gate looking out over Tiananmen Square. The back design features the combination of two doves, a foo dog, and an ornamental column. Specimen overprints and an all zero serial number are present.
