Straits Settlements Government of the Straits Settlements 10 Dollars 1.1.1934 Pick 18as KNB22 Specimen PMG Very Fine 25. A rare 1934 dated $10 is seen in this lot with curious cancellations that appear to have been applied 20 years or so after issue. Purple hand cancellation of the serial numbers can be seen along with a perforated and hand stamped cancellations. Some foreign substance is mentioned for accuracy. One assumption explaining the nature of this note is that this note was lingering in circulation for much longer than was typical, and was somehow exchanged for modern Malaya notes. In order to formally retire this relic, it was cancelled in this fashion.
