Hunan. Kuang-hsü copper Proof Pattern 10 Cash ND (1902-1906) PR63 Brown NGC, KM-Pn5, CL-HUN.95, Duan-703, Hsu-Unl., HNS-Unl. Variety with rosettes with rectangular petals. An exceptional provincial Pattern, preserved at a level far above the lion's share of the competition; the Q. David Bowers Collection, for reference, contained only an AU Details (Cleaned) piece. From a visual standpoint, the offering is simply spectacular--a wave of seafoam and turquoise patina overlaying hardwood-toned surfaces, the reverse appearing closer to azure with fiery cupric-red highlights along the upper characters.
