Republic Li Yuan-hung Dollar ND (1912) MS64 PCGS, Wuchang mint, KM-Y320.2, L&M-44A, Kann-638c, Chang-CH231, WS-0089C. Type with Li Yuan-hung wearing hat, H in CHINA without crossbar (CIIINA). An already incredibly elusive subvariety for the issue, elevated to an entirely new tier of rarity when found so pristinely preserved as this. For the sake of comparison, only 2 other representatives have reportedly been certified this highly across both major grading services, with none finer, most examples to have come to auction recently suffering from damage due to cleaning. Indeed, the last specimen we have been able to locate in comparable technical quality was the Norman Jacobs example, sold in 2008. As such, we can only anticipate the fervor with which this offering will be met as it crosses the auction block.
