Republic Yuan Shih-kai "Plumed Hat" Dollar Year 3 (1914) UNC Details (Cleaned) NGC, Tientsin mint, KM-Y322, L&M-858, Kann-642, WS-0094. Issued to commemorate the Founding of the Republic. An exceptionally produced striking of this iconic early Republican silver Dollar, possessing an eye appeal that is truly seldom found within the series. Though lightly hairlined in the fields in-line with the grade assigned by NGC, this does surprisingly little to hamper the coin's eye appeal. Full cartwheel luster is still observable on the obverse and reverse alike, while a captivating peripheral tone (likely from cabinet storage) points the eye to the central features. Perhaps a more attainable representative, yet one that will prove no less pleasing to its future owner.
