Hostilian as Caesar. Antoninianus; Hostilian as Caesar; 250-251 AD, Antioch, Antoninianus, 3.78g. Gorny & Mosch 122, 10 March 2003, lot 2242 (same dies); cf. RIC-194 (R) and C-4 (Elberling, 12 Fr.), with AEQVITAS AVG not AVGG. Obv: C OVAL OSTIL MES COVINTVS CAESAR Bust radiate, draped r., seen from front; possibly one or two pellets below bust, but unclear. Rx: AEQVITAS AVGG Aequitas standing l. holding scales and cornucopia. Acquired from Bill Rosenblum, 15 August 2013. Possibly only the second recorded specimen with reverse legend AEQVITAS AVGG rather than AVG. Cohen, RIC, and the 249-253 AD website have this type only with AVG, and CoinArchives Pro has only one example with AVGG, the Gorny & Mosch coin cited above.. MS
