Victorinus. Antoninianus; Victorinus; 268-270 AD, Antoninianus, 6.09g. Cunetio Hoard-2567 (1188 spec.), RIC-67. Obv: IMP C VICTORINVS P F AVG Bust radiate, cuirassed r., seen from front. Rx: SALVS AVG Salus standing r. holding and feeding snake. Greatly overweight at 6.09 grams; the average weight of the 1188 specimens of this type in the Cunetio hoard was only 2.83g.This antoninianus, weighing 6.09g, is virtually double the weight of the normal coin. Beautifully struck and well centered. One must wonder if this was an attempt at a different denomination. MS
