Rx: [S]IGNIS - RECE[PT] / DEVICTIS - GERM / S - C (\'He conquered the Germans and won back the lost standards\') Germanicus standing l. raising r. arm and holding eagle-tipped scepter in l. "The reference is to the triumph celebrated by Germanicus on May 26, A.D. 17, in commemoration of his German victories, during which standards lost by Varus had been recovered" (BMC, p. cxlvii). Caligula, who struck the coin, was a son of Germanicus.. F
