Gordian III. AE 33 medallion; Gordian III; 238-244 AD, Odessus, Moesia Inferior, Medallion, 23.95g. RPC-temp 28512 (9 spec., all same dies as ours). Obv: Radiate and cuirassed bust of Gordian III l., seen from front, gorgoneion on cuirass, raising r. hand, in l. hand holding globe. Rx: Gordian III standing l., radiate, in military dress, holding Nike on globe and spear. As Pick noted in AMNG, this same obverse die was also used to strike coins for Marcianopolis and Tomis. VF
