Brazil
Minas Gerais. João Prince Regent Counterstamped 960 Reis ND (1808) VF30 NGC, KM242, LMB-450. Crowned arms counterstamp on the obverse, banded globe on the reverse (UNC Strong), struck on a Charles IV 8 Reales 1800 PTS-PP from Bolivia (cf. KM73). A particularly charming example of this ever-collectible counterstamped type, the moderately worn devices of the host coin lending to the high contrast of the definitively struck countermark, a feature not usually encountered with the "UNC Strong" designation.
