TRIO TO DOW: Queen's South Africa Medal 1899, (type 2 reverse), - four clasps - Cape Colony, Orange Free State, Transvaal, South Africa 1901; British War Medal 1914-18; Victory Medal 1914-19. 2630 Gnr: W.Feagan. Rl:Aust:Arty: on first medal, 2903 Cpl. WA.Feagan. 59 Bn. A.I.F. on last two medals. All medals impressed. Display mounted, nearly extremely fine.

There is no mention of 2630 W.Feagan in the nominal roll for A Battery Royal Aust Arty but he was certainly a member of A Bty, even winning some shooting competitions in 1899, and there are mentions of a William 'Bill' Feagan with the artillery in various letters home from the Boer War and published by newspapers. His Boer War service is also shown on his WWI enlistment application.

Showgrounds, Moore Park, Sydney, NSW with previous experience of 5 years RAA, 1 year 10 months in A Bty in Boer War, 1 year 6 months with NSW Mounted Rifles; Emb.03Nov1916; to Cpl 15Jun1917; WIA 25Sep1917; DOW at 17 CCS, Belgium 27Sep1917 GSW abdomen and right arm, Belgium; Buried at Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery, near Poperinge, West Flanders, Belgium.
