William Robinson, law clerk, age 33, born at Gawcott, Buckinghamshire, England; Enl.22Sep1915 at Holdsworthy, NSW; Emb.25Dec1915 with 7th Rfts 20Bn; Trf to 56Bn 16Feb1916; Trf to 13FAB and posted to 51Bty 17Mar1916 as Gunner; on 31Jul1917 Cpl W.Robinson assisted his Battery Commander Lt Robert Bennett MC in moving a gun into no man's land and fired on the enemy in support of the Infantry advance - they also carried out a reconnaissance and crossed no man's land 4 times under heavy enemy barrages and most of the gunners were wounded by enemy machine gun fire - Cpl Robinson continued to fight at the Battles of Ypres, Broodseinde and Hamel with the Artillery Brigade; TOS Admin HQs 14Dec1918; to T/2/Cpl 14Jan1919; RTA 06Oct1919; Disemb.24Nov1919; Disch.24Jan1920; Died at Urana, NSW in 1933 at age of 51.
