GROUP OF FIVE: Korea Medal 1950-53; United Nations Korea Medal 1950-53; Australian Service Medal 1945-1975, - clasp - Japan; Australian Active Service Medal 1945-1975, - clasp - Korea; Australian Defence Medal. 2/1295 D.E.Rankin on first two medals, 21295 D E Rankin on last three medals. First medal impressed, second medal engraved, other medals pantographed. The first two medals swing mounted, the last three loose, good very fine - uncirculated.
Together with USA Distinguished Unit Citation; Returned from Active Service badge (EIIR); Certificate of Discharge for AIF and also RAAF; RAAF Photography Graduation Certiificate; spare medal ribbons.
Donald Edwin Rankin, born 24Apr1928 at Paddington, Sydney, NSW (his adoptive father, Harry Erle Rankin, was a sailor in RAN); Enl.04Sep1947; served in Japan and Korea with 3RAR and was at the Battle of Kapyong; Disch.07Jul1953; Enl.26Nov1953 in RAAF; Disch.10Apr1974 as Corporal at mustering of photographer (no overseas service) - no RAAF medal entitlement; Died 31Oct1997 and was cremated at Norwood Park Crematorium, ACT on 10Nov1997.
