THRACE, Kingdom of, Lysimachos, (323-281 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (15.63 g), Byzantium mint, late style of that issued c.2nd-1st century B.C., obv. head of Alexander to right, with diadem and horn of Ammon, rev. Athena enthroned to left, supporting Nike, spear behind, monogram of **PYHW* to left, filleted trident below, BY under throne seat, to right **BASILEWS* to left **LUSIMACOU*, (cf.S.6816, Thompson -, Muller 207, HGC 3, 1402). Good very fine with grey patination, very rare.

Ex Gorny & Mosch, Munich auction sale 126, 13th October 2003 (lot 1200) with tickets.
A similar example with the same symbols, but chipped broken off at base realised ?950 at a Bertolami Fine Arts Auction eSale 96, 13 March 2021 (lot 248). Another at Roma Numismatics eSale 71 (lot 6) 28 May 2020 realised ?1100.
