ATTICA, Athens, (166-57 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.63 g), Themisto-, Theopompos, and Aristo-, magistrates, issued 117-116 B.C., obv. head of Athena Parthenos to right wearing triple-crested Athenian helmet, ornamented with Pegasus and forepart of horses to right, rev. owl standiong to right, head facing, in erect posture, on prostrate amphora, trophy on prow to right, legend across **A QE*, to left **QEM/ISTO*, downwards, to right **QEO/POM/POS* **ARIS/TO*, on the amphora K, below amphora **DI* all within olive wreath, (cf.S.2555, Thompson 603g [same dies]). Nearly extremely fine, slightly off centred on obverse.
