PHRYGIA, Sebaste, (3rd century A.D.), AE 27, (8.07 g), obv. youthful draped bust to right of the Roman Senate, around IEPA C VNK**L*HTO/C, dotted border, rev. Zeus enthroned to left, holding patera and sceptre, (S.5114, BMC 12 [p.371], SNG Cop. 675). Dark green patination about extremely fine and rare.

Lockett Collection, Part XII, Glendining's 23 February 1961, (lot 2922 part) with tickets including a note that the coin comes from the Pierre Strauss Collection (M&M December 1950).
