SYRIA, Kingdom of, Antiochos II Theos, (261-246 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.72 g), Antioch on the Orontes Mint, issued after 252 B.C., obv. diademed head of Antiochos II to right, dotted border, rev. Apollo seated to left on omphalos, holding arrow and resting his hand on a grounded bow, **BASILEWS* to right, to left ANTI OXOY, to left an outer monogram of **DH*, to right outer monogram of **HL*, (cf.S.6886, SC 571.2a, Newell WSM 980, Houghton -, BMC -, Babelon -, HGC 9, 238o [S]). Bright, some minor surface roughness, otherwise nearly extremely fine and rare.
