SYRIA, Kingdom of, Seleucus IV Philopator, (187-175 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.88 g), Antioch on the Orontes Mint, issued after 245 B.C., obv. diademed head of Seleucus IV to right, filleted border, rev. Apollo seated to left on omphalos, testing arrow, and resting hand on grounded bow, on right **BASILEWS*, to left **SELE UKOU*, to left in outer area wreath and palm branch, in exergue monogram of **D/I*, (S.6966, SC 1313.1a, Newell SMA 39, SNG Spaer 837, Le Rider Resources 1 var (A1/P, unlisted reverse die, HGC 9, 1313.1). Toned, flan flaw on reverse, good very fine and very scarce.
