SYRIA, Kingdom of, Demetrios II, second reign, (129-125 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (14.12 g, Phoenician standard), Tyre mint, issued year SE 186 = 127-126 B.C., obv. diademed bust of Demetrios II to right within dotted border, rev. eagle standing to left with leg on galley, palm branch in background in field, to left a club with Tyre monogram and A/PE, to right date C**PR*, above **AS*, around **BASILEWS DHMHTRIOU*, between legs MI monogram, (cf.S.7105, SC 2195.4c, Newell Tyre 176, SNG Spaer 2255, HSC 9, 1122). Lightly toned and porous, nearly extremely fine and scarce.
