SYRIA, Kingdom of, Antiochos VIII, (121-96 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.54 g), Ake Ptolemais mint, first reign, undated coinage issued 120-117 B.C., obv. diademed head of Antiochos VIII to right, fillet border, rev. nude Zeus Uranius with crescent above standing to left, holding star and sceptre, on right **BASILEOS and **ANTIOCOU and to left **EPIFANOUS, to left M, to right a pellet on inner field, (cf.S.7143, SC 2335.1b, SNG Spaer 2583, cf.Newell LSM 28, HGC 9, 1196g [R2]). Extremely fine and very rare.
