IRAN. Imperial Bank. 25 Tomans, ND (1890-1923). P-6s. Specimen. PMG About Uncirculated 53.
Printed by BWC. At the time of cataloging, PMG has graded just three examples of this elusive specimen variety. At left are Arms (lion with sword in hand with crown above), and at right is a portrait of Shah Nasr ad-Din. The reverse depicts Arms at center with bank name above and denomination written out below. "25" counters are found in all four corners, and the design offers intricate lathe work in dark green ink. This note is most likely missing from the most advanced Iran/Persian collections. PMG comments "Printer's Annotation, Edge Tear, Previously Mounted."
Estimate: $5000 - $7000
